Rangers eyeing arms, may take a shot at Lowe

The Rangers showed everyone that there offense could put up numbers with anyone last year, scoring the most runs(901) and hitting for the highest average(.283) in the majors. But, their pitching staff had the highest collective ERA in the league at 5.37, and gave up a league high 967 earned runs.

With some talent already brewing in a minor league system that I am very familiar with, the Rangers need to look for a veteran arm to lead this team in a very competitive American League West. One of the bigger names on the market this off-season is Derek Lowe, who is coming off a 14-11 season with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Lowe is a ground ball pitcher so he would fit in well with the Ball Park in Arlington, which may be the most hitter-friendly park in the league.

Sources are telling me that Lowe will look at Texas and that Texas has Lowe as one of their “have to get” guys. This addition would make the Rangers a very competitive team, and a reliever may put them as one of the best teams in the league.
